After last weeks 8-2 drubbing, Fosse were looking to rip someone apart (in a footballing sense of course) and 9 man F.C Kibworth seemed to be the perfect whipping boys (well, they should make the effort to get 11 men on the pitch at the start of the game then shouldn’t they!) Hopes of taking an early lead were dashed with shots being blocked from Dean and Dawks and Bayliss missing from two yards out after ten minutes when it was easier to score, God love him! Twenty minutes gone and Kibworth had the grand total of ten players thanks to one of them being bothered to get out of bed and turn up. Fosse continued to press with Dean shooting over the bar and even finding time to do a cheeky double megs on an unsuspecting Kibworth defender. Despite all this tomfoolery Fosse conceded ten minutes before half time even though the defence had many a chance to clear. When the Fosse faithful thought their beloved team were going to go into half time 1-0 down up pops the better Farley (James on this occasion) to penetrate the Kibworth goal to make it 1-1. Sarah also said someone took someone else from behind but I didn’t see it myself, I was looking the other way.
HT: 1-1
Fosse had the bit between their teeth as they bounded onto the pitch like excited puppies to start the second half, so much so a superb cross from Captain Fantastic Craig saw Deano smash the ball into the back of the Kibworth net to take a deserved 2-1 lead. Five minutes later a ‘Beautiful Bayliss’© cross saw Graham fumble the match ball home for 3-1 to Fosse. Do we not like Orange? Well I think we do on this occasion thank you! Shortly after this, Kibworth had a goal disallowed for offside and Knighty did an excellent impression of Crazy Legs Crane but eventually ran into a brick wall.
Graham finally decided to do some defending….but for Kibworth rather than Fosse and cleared an attacking shot off the line; you would need to ask him what was going on in his head at that point!
Fosse went 4-1 up on the hour when a Kibworth defender handled in his box and the resulting penalty was flirted into the net by Craig. Top linesman Rich Farley came on for Knighty and then low and behold, on 78 minutes Jay of all people scored! This was his first goal for Fosse and so has now left the ‘I am a loser because I’ve never scored for Fosse’ Club. Envious of his goal scoring exploits, the manager (still in the Losers Club himself) made a double substitution which saw him coming on for (not on to) Jay and the other goal scoring ‘hero’ Farley coming on for Nick, who ran around like a blue arsed fly for the last ten minutes. And so it came to pass that on a dreary December morn Fosse finished the game 5-1 and categorically answered their critics.Next time around Fosse are away at Oadby Owls in the league, lets hope no one breaks anything this time!
