FOSSE SPIRIT WINS THROUGH…EVENTUALLY!

A slightly later than normal kick off for Fosse saw them ending a run of 6 home games in a row. After a scrappy start on a well churned pitch, Fosse eventually found their feet and were unlucky not to take the lead on 15 minutes when James Knight’s point blank shot was well saved by the Lutterworth keeper. Fosse seemed to be enjoying themselves as on 33 minutes, James Farley’s cheeky but elegant ‘megs’ on a Lutterworth defender led to gasps of delight from the Fosse faithful.
Unfortunately though, despite a brilliant goal line clearance by K.Carter the visitors blasted the opener past an unsighted Erez to make it 1-0 on 35 minutes.
HT 0-1
After the break Fosse were constantly frustrated by being caught offside and on 55 minutes manager Rob Hillsdon changed things around by replacing J.Farley with Ryan Dawkins. Lutterworth made it 2-0 with 25 minutes left and Fosse looked dead and buried, then, with 9 minutes left top goal scorer Ryan Bayliss pulled one back to make Fosse think they were in with a chance. An unbelievable strike by Dean Morgan made it 2-2 with 5 minutes left – game on! Knighty went down like he had been shot but it was only cramp and was replace on 89 by Jay Herbert.
FT 2-2
After the quick turnaround Fosse looked the hungriest for a win and 7 minutes into extra time Bayliss beat the offside trap to make it 3-2. The fans were in dreamland! Tom ‘Shrek’ Hoegger replaced Kristian Carter at the end of the first period. 5 minutes into the second half Ian ‘Chicko’ Hickling made a vital goal line clearance to keep Fosse in it; Chicko also had an absolute belter brilliantly saved by the Lutterworth keeper on 112 minutes. Serdar made the save of his life with two minutes left so 3-2 was how it finished. Fosse played their little socks off and deserved to go through in the end to play division 5 Thrussington in yet another home cup tie.
FT (AET) 3-2
Next up for the Fosse is a rare away game in the league against Guthlaxton OB.
