First Half:
With Fosse on a roll and full of confidence, having been unbeaten for 2009, they kicked off the home fixture against Hat & Beaver. Having completely dominated the opposite fixture, without getting the win using their new formation, this was how they again lined up again.
Fosse started very brightly dominating possession and basically camping out in the Hat & Beaver half. The final ball was no where to be found. With Bayliss unable to find his touch, it was hard for Fosse to take advantage of the possession. With the midfield anchor of Carter allowing Dean and Luke to attack was causing problems though and it was only a matter of time before the deadlock would be broken.
This was eventually the case, with a fast break by the Fosse midfield, with some slick passing and movement found Barnett on the edge of the who once again linked up with Bayliss to produce a neatly placed through ball for bayliss to finish with his unfavoured right peg. 1-0 Fosse.
Fosse now looking even more comfortable, seemed to be expecting the flood gates to be opened. Where it wasn't one of the more memorable fosse performances they were still clearly on top. However then disaster, after the ball bounced around in midfield the ball found itself at the feet of the Hat & Beaver number 7 who decided to smash it from 40 yards. getting caught in the wind and causing stand in keeper Cobley to have a flap at it, only for it to go in. 1-1.
The game was then seen to level out, both teams feeling hard done by some strange referee decisions. The half time whistle goes and Fosse go in, thinking they could or should be ahead even with a performance, no where near recent weeks heights.
Half Time 1-1
Second Half:
The start of the second, and it didn't take long for the game to become open. Fosse taking advantage of this and having the majority of the ball. again though not being able to capitalise on their hard work. Fosse were really starting to pile on the pressure with corner after corner. unable to make anything from the Bayliss corners, it was now Dean's turn. from his first corner, whipping a spectacular powered cross, to find Graham 'ginge' Jones who bulleted his header past the keeper to the joy of the Fosse posse. 2-1 fosse.
Fosse seemed to take their foot off the gas again expecting the win, this was a bad idea as Hat & Beaver took advantage of this with a number of chances, including an effort cleared of the line by a frantic Fosse defence, this having then sparked Fosse back into life, Fosse then seized control again, having much of the ball without killing off the game.
FULL TIME 2-1 FOSSE
Fosse managed to see out the game and continued with their unbeaten start to 2009.
Next up for Fosse is a double header with QPR who are mid table but definitely now being hunted down by Fosse as they march up the table and chase down the pack above them.
