Welsh Senior League Round 2 Deeside 1st June

Division 1

It was so nice to compete in the sun for a change, so on the bank holiday weekend we went to Deeside. The team was small, as there was the usual clash of fixtures with the women and it being a North Wales trip. Gareth Felkin in the Javelin The meeting got off to a late start due to 3 of the southern teams being late, but that didn't prevent us getting out first. There may not have been many ladies - only 6, but they won seven of the events they contested, starting with the 400 Hurdles.

There may have been more men in the team but they only managed 4 wins, and Liz Callicott leads off the relay unfortunately the standards again took their toll. Our sprinters rather dominated the individual events where 3 of our wins came from Carl McEwan making a particular contribution with 2 wins and a second. Also at 800 Steve Davies was an easy winner and then took second in the 400m showing he has a strong sprint finish.
