Welsh Junior League Round 3 Carmarthen 10th July 2004
A.A.A. UNDER 15 CHAMPS QUALIFICATION FOR RICHIE WELLS
Newport Harriers throws coaches were smiling after the sterling performances of the athletes in the third round of the Junior Welsh League at Carmarthen on Saturday. Shot putt coach Jeff Greenaway was certainly smiling as Richie Wells threw 13.32m to qualify for the A.A.A. U15 Championships. Minutes later Samantha Adams brought another smile to his face as she yet again broke the Harriers Club U20 women's record in the shot for the third time this season. Debutante Amy Groves came in with three straight victories along with new boy Kevin Trigg who set three P.B's. In the Hammer Jason Leach (U17 men) and Rhiannon Greenaway (U17 women) both set new P.B.'s in the event. Meanwhile the U15 boys had some good results on the track courtesy of Morgan Wilson, Jamie Iggot, Chris Wreford, Ashley Stephens, Jonathan Morgan and Chris Evans. As a result of all round performances Newport harriers are now in the Welsh Junior Cup Final in Brecon in August.
