Ten Newport Harrier athletes took part in this year’s Welsh Schools Athletics Championships held in Brecon and brought back 13 medals between them 3 Golds, 4 Silvers and 6 Bronze. The three new Champions and Gold medallists are Senior Boy’s Hammer Alex Leach, Senior Girl’s 800m Rhianne Jones and Junior Boy’s 800m Nicholas Johnson. New Harrier Jacob Matthews took Silver in the Junior Boy’s Discus, whilst Senior Girls Samantha Adams and Lisa Boswell brought 4 medals home between them 2 Bronze and a Bronze and Silver respectively. On the track Junior Girl Bridget Eades took a Bronze in the 200m with team mate Noeleen Morris taking Bronze in the Long jump. Bethany Cann sealed the medal haul in the Middle Girls 800m when she took the bronze medal. Results effecting Newport Harrier athletes are as follows
