Newport Harriers had tremendous success on Friday (7th March) evening at the Annual Newport Sports Awards sponsored by Faucets.

The Harriers had representatives in three awards namely

• Young Sportswoman of the Year - Rozelle Cavacuiti
• Senior Team Award - Harriers Women's Team
• Young Sportsman of the Year runner up - Alex Leach
  

Our congratulations to Rozelle Cavacuiti and the Senior Women's Team on their richly deserved success.
Commiserations to Alex Leach who was runner-up in a four way battle.

There was a surprise was in store for Ivor Adams who was awarded with the coveted "Services to Sport" during the evening. Ivor has had a great impact on Newport Athletics for over 30 years, an influence that stretches far beyond the county. The award is much deserved.

Newport Harriers would like to thank all organisers and sponsors of the event for a wonderful evening.

The annual General Meeting of Newport Harriers athletic Club will be held on Friday 14th March 2003 at Spytty Stadium commencing at 7.00pm
