Welsh Inter Regional Championships, 29th August |
Despite the championships being hosted by the South in Cardiff,
the turnout was poor for the East, though Newport athletes made
up a large part of the team and did well on the whole.

Welsh Junior Cup Final, Brecon, 22nd August |
Newport Juniors had made the final but struggled to raise a full
team for the final in Brecon.

Midland League, Sutton-in-Ashfiled 1st August |
Newport maintained their dominance of Division 6 by winning the
fourth and final match and achieving a 100% success rate
throughout the season.

South Wales Masters League, Cardiff, 28th July |
Newport Masters slipped up in the last round by still won the
league title for the 8th year running.

National Junior League, Yate 25th July |
The joint South & East Wales team finished 3rd with
some stunning performances from the Newport
contingent.

BAL Cup Semi Final, Yate 24th July |
On paper we were the weakest team at the 10 in 100 semi-final.
Every other club was in a higher division or league, and this is
how it unfolded with Newport propping up the rest in both the
men’s and women’s competition.

It was the final round for the juniors, and they needed a good
performance to avoid finishing in the bottom two, we need
not have worried.

The re-arranged last match was held at Newport so this was a
chance to claim the 3rd place spot. Could Newport

where we needed a good turnout to hang onto a spot for the Cup
Final.

Welsh Junior Championships, Carmarthen 10th July |
This turned out to be one of our most successful years as a club
despite the venue being some way off, clearly the juniors don't
mind travelling.

Three victories in a row means it’s now a mathematical certainty
that we will be promoted to Division 5 with a match to spare,
and it’s a strong mathematical probability that it will be as
champions.

Newport had a another decent representation in the South East
Wales team in the National Junior League.

Results for the 3rd round are finally out, Newport managed to
move up one place in the league thanks to some top performances
form a small team.

The youngsters had a really good day at the Under 15/U13
championships with a number PB's being achieved, whilst the
seniors were a bit light on entries.

they applied themselves with ruthless efficiency to record
another handsome victory.
