Newport Harriers |
| The recent bad weather didn't put off all the juniors from
travelling across the border to the Prince of Wales track at Cheltenham
on Sunday 29th June, although the Newport contingent was slightly down
on normal. The guys who went had a pretty good day recording a number of season's bests and even a PB. Emrys Penny was close to his average time in the 3K against some tough competition from the English lads. Tom Kivell, forever seeking out competitions, had one of his best performances of the year in the Long and Triple jumps. However the real star of the day was Mark Boswell who set a PB in the Hammer and Discus and a season's best in the Shot. As far as the match went, Cheltenham were runaway winners again and only have to turn up in the 4th round to win the league, East Wales look safe in 3rd place ahead of rival South Wales. |
