Welsh Under 17/Under 20 Championships, Deeside 12th July.

It might have been a long way to go but the Juniors showed what they can do on the road away at Deeside. There were several medals and some excellent performances although there were the inevitable disappointments. Naomi Williams-Wadley was count herself unlucky after just missing out on the title to her rival from Brecon in a closely fought javelin contest. Ashley Jones was a bit below par in the high jump and had to settle for a bronze, but he made up for that in the long jump taking the silver medal.

In the sprints Oliver Edwards was on top form and managed to sneak a bronze in the 200m after just missing out in the 100m. Antonia Yorkshire mirrored hir performances taking a Bronze in the 300mH after being 4th in the 80m event.

The Under 20's had more success, Rhiannon Yates kicked things off with a bronze in the long jump with an excellent 5.0m jump. Tom Kivell went one better taking the title with one of his best jumps for a while, finishing well clear of the field. Jacob Matthews took two Golds in the throws with some dynamic throwing in the Discus and then showed his power in taking the Shot title.
